WELCOME TO... WCA Family Conference Week

Presenting the MILESTONE MEETING

The 2008 WCA FAMILY CONFERENCE WEEK will feature

10th Annual World Cargo Alliance World Conference.
3rd IGLN Annual World Conference
6th APLN Annual Conference

at the Plaza Athenee hotel, Bangkok, Thailand, February 24-March 2

Tenth anniversary special

Yes, it’s the TENTH World Cargo Alliance Annual Conference! Attendance during the decade has risen tenfold from the pioneering members who met at that first conference in the US way back in 1999, with up to 600 attendees expected at the 2008 version to present an unrivalled opportunity for face-to-face networking. If you have been to previous WCA meetings you’ll know this is a MUST-BE-THERE event. If you have yet to experience the business opportunities you can gain at a WCA Annual Conference, this is the one you MUST NOT MISS!

3-in-1

The WCA Family Conference Week concept was introduced in 2007 to enhance the effectiveness of our meetings and provide even better value for money for attendees.

WCA Family Week 2008 will take place February 24-March 2 and will start with our flagship network World Cargo Alliance’s 10th Annual World Conference on February 24-27. Immediately after that, all at the same venue, will be the 6th APLN Annual Conference and the 3rd IGLN Annual World Conference, both of which run from 27 February to 2 March.

Grouping the three major annual network conferences in a single week is win-win for everyone, especially for the many companies that are members of more than one network, because the opportunity to attend up to three meetings at a single venue in one week will substantially reduce your travel costs and free up your diary.

Back home – by popular demand!

WCA Family is pleased to be returning to the

Plaza Athenee hotel Bangkok

which has seen many of our meetings in previous years. Many members expressed their preference for this smart, stylish convenient and good-value venue and we have negotiated excellent rates for accommodation as well as for the meetings themselves.

Business-oriented meeting formula

We will be refreshing the format of the events, but you can be sure of one thing: we will not change the basic concept. WCA Family meetings are for you, the members, to meet and talk serious business with fellow members. They are not, and never will be, full of boring executives wasting your time and telling you how good their company is, like most other conferences in this or any other industry.

Register now!

“When we gathered in the US for our first WCA meeting I could feel the excitement, that we were all in on the start of something special. But in my wildest dreams I could not have predicted how successful this group would become. This tenth anniversary event is going to be something really unique and I look forward to welcoming all WCA members – including as many as possible from that original meeting. This conference is still the most valuable business tool you can have.”

David Yokeum, founder, World Cargo Alliance and WCA Family

The 10th Annual World Cargo Alliance World Conference will feature

  • One-on-One meetings
  • announcement of exciting new membership benefits
  • very special awards – with 10-year certificates for the pioneers of World Cargo Alliance

In response to requests by existing members around the world, and anticipating the trends in trade that are driving the expansion of developing markets such as South Asia and the Middle East, we have decided to refresh the IGLN image and considerably expand this important network’s global reach.  Please go to www.igln.net and view the result, which has been renamed to better reflect its global nature:

INTER-GLOBAL LOGISTICS NETWORK

The concept of the original IGLN was correct, but its definition as a network for and from South Asia has become too specific and we now believe to continue in this way would be limiting for the network and its members. Thus we have repositioned the group to make it even more attractive to the rest of the world – without detracting from the initial focus and having built up a fine core membership of trusted and reliable agent members in the Subcontinent and beyond. By thus repositioning IGLN we also reduce the likelihood of any ‘overlap’ with our other global networks.

The change will benefit everyone in WCA Family. Our policy of innovation means we are always striving to create more and greater opportunities for members and we have recently had several well-respected (non-Family) networks approaching us wanting to use our members, particularly in vital strategic developing markets. That is because they know that WCA Family carefully examines all applications to join, resulting in a membership that can be very strongly marketed to the benefit of the entire group.

The revised IGLN will be an even more attractive proposition to the rest of the world, bringing more members to deal with and more choice in more markets in every country. At no extra cost to members, financial protection within IGLN will rise from January 1* to an unprecedented USD 50,000 per transaction between IGLN members and USD 30,000 when IGLN members deal with members of other WCA Family groups.

I urge all current or prospective members of IGLN attend the forthcoming IGLN Annual Conference (Feb 27-March 2, click here for details) because it will be a chance to do more new business with fellow members – including many joining now because of the global expansion of the group. It will also be a chance David Yokeum our President to personally explain to you just how important this repositioning of IGLN is and how excited the whole WCA Family team is to be rolling out Inter-Global Logistics Network.  Please register for the IGLN Conference now.

The 3rd IGLN Annual World Conference will feature

  • One-on-One meetings
  • announcement of exciting new membership benefits
  • Gala Dinner
  • Introductory welcome reception

The 6th APLN Annual Conference is expected to attract record numbers of members eager to bring more business into the group and deal with fellow members. The 2007 event was the largest yet but followed only six month after the previous conference as WCA Family realigned its event calendar for greater convenience for all members. The 2008 meeting will be attended by APLN members who really understand the concept of this group – active, aggressive forwarders who recognise the strength of the group lies in mutual business building and face-to-face development of trust in business relationships.

The 6th APLN Annual Conference will feature

  • One-on-One meetings
  • Best Partner awards (voted by fellow APLN members)
  • announcement of exciting new membership benefits
  • Gala Dinner
  • Introductory welcome reception
