WCA Family History

In 1987 David Yokeum, now president of WCA Family of Logistic Networks, created the first ever worldwide exclusive network that was neutrally managed and operated to truly benefit the members of the group.

Since then he has travelled the world meeting face to face with independent forwarders that are seeking better agency/partner options for the future and has visited the offices of more than 4,000 such forwarders.

In 1998, David reviewed the other networks and realised that most offered their members very little, not least because of their exclusive status with only one member per market. So he decided to launch World Cargo Alliance, the first ever privately owned and managed forwarder network that was truly neutral and with its only priority to serve ALL members worldwide.

Today, World Cargo Alliance provides its members with far more services than any other network in the world because it can act independently of any member, working for the good of the entire membership.

In September 2003, David launched Advanced Professional Logistics Network (APLN), which is a strong, independent global network of highly qualified and professional forwarders and logistics operators, followed early in 2004 by China Global Logistics Network, a group designed to benefit the thousands of China forwarders seeking help in finding trusted agents worldwide and international forwarders needing more effective solutions within this mega growth market.

Similarly India Global Logistics Network, established mid-2005, addresses the quality issues and poor perception of logistics in the world's second most vibrant economy by accrediting and selecting qualified and professional forwarders on the Subcontinent and partnering them with agents worldwide.

WCA Projects Network was set up in July 2005 to cater for the needs of specialised project-cargo and heavy-lift professionals seeking global contacts and partners, completing a suite of networks serving independent freight forwarders as a fully-fledged worldwide grouping.

WCA Family offers member benefits and support services which no other network can rival, investing millions of US dollars each year to constantly develop new ways to assist members build their business. More than 70 full-time staff in five WCA Family offices around the world include experts in legal affairs, accounting, IT, marketing, PR and graphic design – in addition to highly experienced ex-freight forwarders with more than 20 years in networking in this industry.
